Two Gringas and a Tico
Heather
Guide and co-owner of Chiquita Tours, Heather got hooked on exploring the world as a young girl, traveling the Caribbean and Americas with her family. She went to study abroad in the Netherlands when she was 19 and hasn’t stopped traveling since. She has lived and worked all over the United States, Belgium, Ireland and Costa Rica, where she met her business partner and co-owner of Chiquita Tours, Kristin Brewer. She has also traveled extensively through Africa, Europe, Central, South, and North America. She presently divides her time between Costa Rica, Europe and the United States.
Kristin
Guide and co-owner of Chiquita Tours, Kristin lives for traveling. Her father is a minister and got her started traveling the world at a young age, when he would visit the mission fields. As she grew up, the love of seeing new places and cultures, along with meeting new people still grew. She has traveled to Asia, Europe, Canada, Carribean, Central America and all over the US. While living in Costa Rica, she fell in love with the culture and it’s people and knew this is where she wanted to be. While in Costa Rica, she met Heather, who would become her business partner in Chiquita Tours.
Junias
Your local guide Junias was born and raised in Costa Rica. He has done quite a bit of traveling, including Central America, Europe and the US, and has worked in the travel industry for many years. He has extensive knowledge in the area for lodging, transportation and sub-contracting. His English is great, (better than our Spanish) and he is an awesome compliment to the team. He will be glad to introduce you to Guaro!
At Chiquita Tours, we purposely keep the tour size small so that we can get to know you and you can
get to know us. At the start of your tour, you’ll receive our useful handout of bi-lingual Tico phrases. You can always practice with our bi-lingual Tico guide. We want you to experience
Costa Rica as the locals do. You’d be amazed at how far a simple “por favor” or “gracias” can get you!
